Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (JAMU in Brno) - ESF Projects - LIFE-LONG EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF DRAMATIC AND MUSIC ARTS

LIFE-LONG EDUCATION IN THE FIELD OF DRAMATIC AND MUSIC ARTS

Project no. CZ.04.1.03/3.2.15.1/0116, officially initiated on the 19th October 2005

The project of the Faculty of Music and the Faculty of Theatre extends the life-long education programmes. It is focused on people with secondary or university education who are not educated in the field of art and who want to improve their qualification in artistic disciplines offered in the project courses. The mission of JAMU is to encourage and develop talented adepts in the field of dramatic or music arts so the graduates are able to find appropriate work in the artistic world. However, the mission is limiting from the artistic ambitions of the public point of view - study at an artistic academy is a highly selective matter and it is not possible to meet demand of all applicants for study. The aim of the project is to offer people interested in artistic disciplines six courses of life-long education. The courses will enable participants to improve their qualification in the field of art or to prepare better for entrance examinations for some of the BA study programmes at JAMU.

The following courses will be offered:

FACULTY OF MUSIC
- the course of conducting
- the course of composition
- the course of playing percussion instruments

FACULTY OF THEATRE
- the course of drama in education
- summer workshops (summer schools of musical, voice and dancing, acting)
- lectures and seminars from history and theory of the theatre
